The quail eggs are supposed to be hatching at the end of next week! This means that each classroom must set up their brooders, that way they are nice and warm for the chicks when they are removed from the brooders. For specific information, please reference the "brooding" section of the website, or your quail protocol. Please gather the materials you need over the weekend and begin assembling on Monday. The feed will be delivered early in the week! Also, stop rotating the eggs 3 days before the hatch date.
Remember:
Get a cardboard box about 21” x 14” x 12.5”
Cover the bottom with play sand
Heat the brooder to 99-100 Degrees Fahrenheit (attach the lamp to a counter to avoid fire hazards and leave a thermometer on the floor)
Place food and water in the brooder prior to moving the chicks, and keep it out of the heat.
As always, Email me with any questions or pictures you have taken throughout the process, or feel free to comment below :)
